The Staff Officers’ Basic Training Course at the Hungarian Defence Forces Military Training Centre concluded with the presentation of certificates.

In the course of the training, participants learned and mastered the basic tasks of a staff officer, and acquired the basic skills and abilities that are indispensable for the effective implementation of their future duties in the field.

During lectures and exercises, not only did they practice English-language radio voice procedures, and learn about conflict management, negotiation techniques and working with language assistants, but they also refreshed their skills in mine awareness and administering first aid, map reading, and the international law of armed conflict.

After completing the course, it is mandatory that the personnel be able to fill individual positions in the headquarters and staff of peace support operations, in an international environment, and to plan and apply the operational procedures they have acquired.

The accomplishment of the basic course paves the way to the Peace Support Staff Mission Specific Training, also held at the HDF Military Training Centre, which provides participants with further in-depth expertise and knowledge.
