Future peacekeepers to be deployed in individual positions in the various theatres of the Balkans, has gone through mission-specific training at the Hungarian Defence Forces Military Training Centre in Szolnok.
As part of the mission-oriented training, the soldiers attended lectures on the military geographic features of the theatres, electronic information and document protection, theatre-specific public health and epidemiology, administering first aid in tactical environments, and psychological training, among others.
The training focused on religious awareness, cultural differences and the management of potential security risks and threats in the area of operations. A peace-support live-firing exercise was conducted with the standard pistols and rifles issued in the mission’s theatre, with the requirement that the trainees carry out their tasks in theatre without loss of life.
In addition, the mission’s trainees received updates from soldiers with recent experience and from a video conference with other personnel serving in the theatre of operations, also in individual assignments. The training ended with the presentation of certificates.
